Process For this specific project, I wanted to stick with the theme of realism. It's the part of art where I feel that I am the weakest, so I wanted to use this opportunity to give it more practice and learn knew techniques as I went on.
During this project I researched a couple of works to see the techniques that the artist's used to make their pieces seem real. Before this project, I rarely took into consideration different perspectives and the use of shadows. I myself have never really created anything that needed those details, so I wanted to try it out and learn. I didn't take any specific artist inspiration because I wanted this to simply show the progression of my skills. I ordered the photos the way I did (first completed to last), to show how my skills have improved in the duration of this assignment. |
Reflection I feel like this project was a good learning experience for me. I now have finally experimented with realism, and put more effort into it than I have in the past.
There were some ups and downs with this project. There were times when I really didn't know what to do, and when I didn't really want to do anything. Like in the beginning I didn't exactly give it my ll, but towards the end I began to pay a lot more attention to detail, and I feel as if my pieces have turned out very well in the end. |
ACT Questions:
1. The inspiration for these pieces was just to create things to better my skills as an artist. I wanted to explore with drawing different items, and even attempt some self portraits.
2. The approach that I took for my pieces was to just practice, practice, practice. To create works of objects around me and get a feel for the realistic art side.
3. Something that I discovered while creating this project is that the longer you work on something, actually taking your time on it, the better the outcome. (Pictures are in chronological order, which proves this statement).
4. While making these pieces, I decided to stick with the realistic kind of style. I wanted to do this to further my skills in this area, because I feel like I could use some improvement there.
5. While testing out and even looking into other kinds of styles, I decided to stick with the realistic theme because I found it to be more interesting. With drawing something the way I like, but also being able to tell that it is a certain object.
